Geothermal, air to water, exhaust air and open loop heat pumps offer one of the most energy-efficient, environmentally friendly ways of heating and cooling. Even at temperatures that we consider to be cold, the air, ground and water contain useful heat that is replenished by the sun. By applying a little more energy a heat pump can raise the temperature to levels needed for space heating and hot water.

Manufacturers of geothermal heat pumps typically quote a 4-1 return, so for every 1kW of energy used to run the compressor, 4kW of useful heat is received.

Heat Pump Maintenance

Like every machine, a heat pump needs a little TLC now and again. It is recommended that the unit is checked over every other year.

By maintaining a heat pump you can ensure it runs at it's optimum, guaranteeing it a long life – typically 25 years.
